MCO — Order-in… Success!!

In anticipation of a new dawn, I find myself sitting alone in the dark, awaiting the Muslim Call to Prayer, drumming from a distance at 5:30am, I think to myself, “Nothing like the present to bring together hordes of hungry patrons, awaiting their next meal,” so says the Islam’s rhythmic Adhan(Islam’s Call to Prayer), of which coincidentally, reminds me of Ramadan.

Covid-19 may have resulted in a Global pandemic but you can’t argue with the fact, assuming you are all home safe and sound, that it has brought family members closer together. TIME to start ordering in!!!

When speaking of unity nothing says it better than solidarity and is best represented in the ages old Chinese Idiom, “The state of a nation is best represented of the home.” It speaks of a million wonders, with so few cases and a near 65% recovery rate from the dreaded Covid-19 Virus and only 107 dead so far in the nation’s capital, Kuala Lumpur, it comes to us as no surprise; we are doing so well against all other odds stacked against us.

Now with the death toll in the UK surpassing even that of Italy and as the USA, under Donald Trump — who coincidentally is pushing congress to veto his move to restart the economy, where death tolls and newly reported cases reaching global catastrophe with over 3.6million cases tallied, and a further 258k already dead, it is no wonder that Islam’s infamous Turkish Hymm of Prayer calling for unity, speaks of fulfilling a certain void left of most of our lives. The sanctity of the home is what I am referring to here, and quite frankly it is starting to feel a whole lot like Christmas — let me explain!!

As is mentioned, but cannot be stressed enough, Christmas requires family members sit round the dining table together for a nice meal. But what do you do when fasting becomes apart of your routine? Coming together and putting our differences aside never looked simpler, wouldn’t you say? As MCO has been extended a further two weeks in our nations capital, shopping for groceries allows only a window of opportunity, afforded of our single passenger, 10km maximum safe distance travel restrictions. So just like our Muslim Kith & Kin, we too are technically fasting during this troubling time spent indoors and away from potential carriers of the deadly virus.

“Ordering in is the new eating out!!!” so it has been said, but far from Christmas we are, of this tragic happening that has halted the birth of the new world, some may very well be be enamored at the very thought of celebration being the core virtue during this deadly outbreak, but here is an alternate idea to that dogmatic appeal that speaks of all things lambasting; look on the bright side and turn your stay-at-home situation into an opportunity to catch up on old memories and mend broken ties — with family it seems the only plausibility.
