Take time out from visiting the best in UNESCO Heritage Sites by Snorkeling or a stroll on the beach.

With heritage sites ranging from the Penang’s Unesco-listed Georgetown to Malacca’s historical core to the diversity of landscapes, culture and other activities, Malaysia is never short of things to do and places to be.

Tourists have plenty of places to visit in Malaysia, with Borneo’s 130-million-year old jungle being one of the highlights, backpackers and those with a love for the outdoors will never feel out of place. It truly is a celebration of diversity and cultural background.

Some of GOeureka’s favourites highlighted are amongst the most beautiful places in Malaysia. The Perhentians in Terengganu, Danum Valley, Sabah, Alor Setar, Kedah, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Ipoh, Perak, The Cameron Highlands, Pahang, Pangkor Island, Perak and Pulau Tioman, Pahang are all luxurious places to visit.

We may have listed 8–10 places in highlight, but in retrospect, as most of our team have visited these places personally, at some point in their lives, there can be no real victor when it comes to good travel, certainly not in this context. One thing above all else, that may be mentioned in highlight, and a personal favourite of ours, is Time Magazine’s 1970’s census of most beautiful places to visit in the world. Pulau Tioman, Pahang is that place!

Tioman Island, located of the east coast in the South China Sea, makes GOeureka’s list of Top Places to visit and be seen. With rich coral, untouched beaches, and an interior of rich forestry, trust the tourist to make this destination a festive and lavish setting for any holiday goer.

Favourite activities include snorkeling and scuba diving, trekking in the jungle, touring the island on a motorbike or bicycle as well as visiting waterfalls. Happy Travels!
